NEW DELHI: Nobody can stop Suryakumar Yadav when he switches his beast mode on in the middle, and the same thing happened on Thursday when the Indian skipper ripped apart South African pacer Andile Phehlukwayo for three sixes and a boundary during the third and final T20I of the series in Johannesburg.
Surya hammered Phehlukwayo for 22 runs in the 13th over through a sequence of 6, 4, 6, 6, an over in which he also brought up his fifty along with that last maximum.

Surya launched an assault on Phehlukwayo by clobbering his leg-cutter over cow corner for a massive six on the second delivery of the over and followed it with a boundary. He then played a lofted on-drive for a maximum and also brought up his 32-ball fifty with that shot.
There was no stopping for Surya as this time he walked across and whipped the length ball over deep mid-wicket to complete a century partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The over fetched 23 runs for India with a single coming off the first and there was no run on the last ball.

Later, Surya also became the second-highest batter to hit most sixes for India in the shortest format of the game after Rohit Sharma. He went past Virat Kohli’s tally of 117 sixes in 107 innings.
The top-ranked T20I batter achieved another milestone as he went on to score his fourth T20I century to draw level with Rohit and Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell‘s record for most T20I hundreds.
