NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli has been in sublime form in the IPL 2023 with three half-centuries so far and once again a big knock was expected from RCB batter but the pressure of the huge run chase got him out cheaply that too in an unusual manner against Chennai Super Kings.
Chasing a mammoth 227, Kohli started off with a double followed by a boundary off CSK pacer Akash Singh, who was brought in as Impact Player, but he perished soon in his attempt to accelerate.

But the manner Kohli got out would have certainly disappointed him. He made ample room to hit the length ball through midwicket but ended up getting an inside edge. The ball clipped the shoe and ricocheted on to the stumps and Akash jumped in celebration.
Earlier, Devon Conway slammed a blistering 83 off 45 balls while Shivam Dube blazed away to a 27-ball 52 as Chennai Super Kings posted an imposing 226 for six.
Opting to bowl, it was a struggle for RCB’s bowling attack as the CSK batters went hammer and tongs from the onset.
