Rohit Sharma becomes 4th batter to score 6000 runs in IPL | Cricket News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma entered into the record books by becoming just the fourth batter to score 6000 runs in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Rohit got to the landmark in the IPL 2023 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The right-handed batter achieved the milestone when he reached on 14 with a square cut boundary off spinner Washington Sundar.

SRH left-arm pacer T Natarajan ended Rohit’s knock on 28 when he got a leading edge to mid off where Aiden Markram took a catch. Rohit now has a total of 6014 IPL runs to his name from 231 matches with one century and 41 half-centuries.
Former RCB captain Virat Kohli leads the chart with 6844 runs in 228 matches. He also made five hundreds and 47 fifties.

Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan features second on the list having scored 6477 runs in 210 matches followed by Delhi Capitals captain David Warner (6109 runs in 167 games).
