Rajasthan Premier League auction: Deepak Hooda bags biggest deal | Cricket News – Times of India



JAIPUR: The auction of the inaugural edition of the Rajasthan Premier League (RPL) saw all-rounders attracting big deals in an intense bidding war between six franchises that lasted for more than seven hours on Thursday.

It was all-rounder Deepak Hooda who landed the highest bid as Kota splurged Rs 15,50000 to have his services. Another all-rounder, Mahipal Lomror bagged the second-highest bid of Rs 15,00000 by Sikar.
Injury prone seamer Deepak Chahar was taken by Bhilwara at Rs 5,75,000 while his cousin brother, leg-spinner Rahul Chahar was picked by Jodhpur at Rs 7,00,000. Surprisingly, the Jaipur franchise splurged Rs 14,00000 for lesser known batting all-rounder Shubham Garhwal.

Other marquee players like Aniket Choudhary, Khaleel Ahmed, Kamlesh Nagarkoti have been picked by Sikar at Rs6,25000, Udaipur at Rs5,25000 and Jaipur at Rs 5,00,000.
These players were a part of Group ‘A’ which involved those who have represented India and have played in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Other players in the group, wicketkeeper-batter Kunal Singh Rathore (Rs 5,25,000), batters Abhijeet Tomar (Rs 9,25,000) and Aditya Garhwal (Rs 7,75,000), and bowler Himanshu Sharma (Rs 5,25,000) will lend their services to Bhilwara, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Kota respectively.
Moreover, earlier in the day, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) president Vaibhav Gehlot unveiled the RPL logo.
