NEW DELHI: Social media is buzzing with reactions following Pakistan‘s shocking defeat to the United States in the T20 World Cup.
Former players and cricket pundits expressed disbelief and disappointment as Pakistan, the 2022 runners-up and 2009 champions, failed to chase down 19 runs in the Super Over.
The United States, who secured one of the biggest upsets in Twenty20 World Cup history in Dallas on Thursday, marked their second win of the tournament.

Pakistan overcame a shaky start to post a total of 159-7. However, the USA chased aggressively, scoring 14 runs in the final over to match Pakistan’s total at 159-3, sending the match into a Super Over.
The stunning upset by the non-Test playing USA team, led by Saurabh Netravalkar‘s brilliant bowling, has sparked a wave of criticism.
Many are calling for introspection and changes in the Pakistani team’s strategy ahead of their crucial match against India, highlighting this defeat as a landmark moment in international cricket.
