Jennifer Lopez dazzled at her Bridgerton-themed birthday celebration wearing an exquisite ball gown by designer Manish Malhotra.
American actress and singer Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 55th birthday on July 24. She threw a Bridgerton-themed birthday party, which was attended by some of her close friends. The Atlas actress looked every bit the regal queen, channelling the regency-era charm as she cut her birthday cake. Fashion designer Manish Malhotra shared a post on his Instagram handle featuring Jennifer sitting on a throne wearing his creation. The designer revealed in his post that the custom-made gown took a total of 3,490 hours (almost 4 months) to complete, using handwork done by 40 of the best artisans in India.
The rich grey-toned gown includes a corset and a Victorian-style skirt. Both pieces feature floral motifs that were moulded by hand using sequins and more than half a million crystals. It also boasted petal and ring-shaped metal sequins that were treated to preserve the beautiful shade needed to craft this ensemble. For a modern touch, the Victorian skirt also had a middle slit up to her knees.
Jennifer’s entire look was styled by celebrity stylists Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi. To complement her Bridgerton-inspired gown, the diva’s look was accessorised with a small heart-shaped pendant chain, square solitaire studs, mesh gloves and golden high-block heels.
Her makeup was equally stunning, as she opted for a vintage look. It included a matte base, smokey eyeshadow, defined brows, contoured cheeks and mauve lipstick. Hair stylist Jesus Guerrero styled Jennifer’s hair into a high, voluminous, curled bun. To level up the Regency-era look, her hair bun was secured with a floral band.
Jennifer also dropped a video on Instagram, offering her fans a glimpse into her 1820s-style birthday party. From horse carriages to a live orchestra to ballroom dancers, Jennifer’s lavish party had every element of Bridgerton. We also get glimpses of her second outfit, a green off-shoulder gown. It features heavy embroidery on the bodice, a plunging neckline, a flowy silhouette and elegantly attached sleeves. The bottom of the gown is elegantly flowing, which allows her to move with ease. She completed her look with the same accessories and makeup.
