All domestic flights out of the Lucknow International Airport will now be operational from Terminal 3 instead of Terminal 2, the airport announced sharing the news. The Chaudhary Charan Singh International (CCSI) airport, on Wednesday announced that it is shifting the entire domestic operations to the New Integrated Terminal 3 (T3) from Terminal 2.
In Phase 1, the Terminal 3 of the Lucknow airport has a capacity of 80 lakh passengers per annum, which will go up to 1.3 crore passengers per annum at the end of Phase 2.
At present, Indigo Airlines, Air India, Vistara, Air India Express, Air Asia India, Fly Big and Star Air operate their domestic flights from Terminal 2 but from Sunday, April 21, they will shift their entire domestic operations to Terminal 3. The airport will be deploying Customer Service Associates and signages at strategic decision-making points near airport to guide domestic passengers towards T3, including at the Airport Metro station.
International flights will continue to operate out of Terminal 1 of the Lucknow airport.
Country’s leading domestic carrier IndiGo in a statement also announced that all its domestic flights operating from Lucknow Airport will arrive and depart from Terminal 3 starting April 21, 2024, while international flights will continue to operate from Terminal 1.
The Bengaluru airport registered 15 per cent passenger traffic growth in 2023-24 on a yearly basis. In a statement released by the Bengaluru airport, it was revealed that during 2023-24, the airport played host to 32.86 million domestic passengers and 4.67 million international passengers, highlighting its significance as a crucial gateway for both domestic and international travel.
“Proactive measures have been taken to ensure that passengers are well-informed about this change. IndiGo is reaching out to all affected passengers and their respective travel agents through SMS, calls, and emails provided in their reservation details,” the airline informed in its statement.To avoid any inconvenience, passengers are advised to retrieve their PNR on the airline’s website or mobile app to check their terminal before heading to the airport.
