The Siddhi Vinayak temple in Agra’s Gokulpura is a 261-year-old historical temple renowned for its unique sandalwood idol of Lord Ganapati. Devotees adorn this idol with vermilion, a rare practice for Lord Ganesha.
Established in 1646, during the Mughal period, this temple was rebuilt by Maratha Sardar Mahadji Scindia in 1760. Scindia, who was the ruler of Gwalior, also planted a peepal tree on the temple grounds, which is present even now.
It is believed that during his visits to Agra, Scindia used to worship at this temple. Despite multiple attacks and attempts to destroy it, the temple stands even today.
According to locals, Mahadji Scindia started the Ganesh Shobha Yatra from this temple on Ganesh Chaturthi with grand celebrations. A sandalwood palanquin carries Lord Ganesha through the city in a procession during Ganesh Chaturthi.

The temple is open from 5am to 1pm and from 2pm to 10pm. To reach the temple, devotees should head to Raja Mandi market from MG Road and then proceed to Mansa Devi Gokulpura street.
