BHEL Receives Rs 10,000 Crore From DVC For Jharkhand Thermal Plant – News18

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, on July 26, said that it had received a letter of intent (LOI) by Damodar Valley Corporation, to set up the 2×800 MW Koderma phase-II power station in Koderma district, Jharkhand. The total value of this order exceeds Rs 10,000 crore excluding the tax and the duties. This power station will be set up on an EPC basis (EPC is engineering, procurement, and construction, where the contractor is responsible for these activities). This project is scheduled to be completed within 52 months. Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd closed at Rs 317.25, up by Rs 6.10 or 1.96 percent on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

As per reports, this project involves the supply of equipment like boilers, turbines, generators and associated auxiliaries. It will also involve the supply of electrical and control and instrumentation systems and the balance of the plant packages. BHEL is also allotted the duty of erecting, commissioning and civil works required for the power station.

The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd’s 52-week high share price was Rs 335.40 on July 9. On August 7, 2023, the company’s share was Rs 94.80. This implies that in about 11 months BHEL’S shares have increased by 3.50 times (254 percent). In 2023, the company gave a return of 206.58 percent to the investors. In the current financial year, the share of the company has seen an increase of 60 percent. In a month, the company has given investors a return of 6.75 percent. In a week, there has been an increase of 6.85 percent.
